Saudi Arabia: New Zealand launches education website in Arabic

The country offers world-class education and the “Education New Zealand” website, Facebook and Twitter pages will prove very helpful to the students, Ambassador Hamish MacMaster said after launching the website.
“Saudi students can now ask questions and win scholarships to study in New Zealand,” he said.
Education Counsellor John Laxon said the number of Saudi students choosing to study in New Zealand rose by 17 percent in 2013. Presently, 4,000 Saudis are studying there.
New Zealand universities are ranked among the top 3 percent of universities globally in the QS World University Rankings. The country is also the third most peaceful country in the world and very welcoming to Saudi students, he said.

“We’re committed to supporting Saudi students before and during their visit to New Zealand. We offer pre-departure workshops and support,” Laxon said.
There are vibrant Saudi students’ clubs in New Zealand and all universities offer halal food options and prayer facilities, he said.
There are many Saudi students in New Zealand taking up engineering, business administration, information technology and courses such as air-traffic control, Laxon said.
